In particular the difference in cities/towns, and large player count situations is extremely noticeable. I've been using it a little longer now and Windows 10 continues to perform much better for me than Windows 8.1 ever had with ESO. I'd like to point out 's testimony in particular, because it's a positive description of his first-hand experience. So far, there seem to be no (or only very minor) problems with the later builds. That’s the way things go with life - and Windows - where change remains the only unassailable constant.Hi are quite a few threads on the forums where folks talk about their experience with ESO on Windows 10, here is one of the more recent ones. As the new Settings stuff starts to make itself known, it’s just a matter of time before the Control Panel Items they replace start to disappear.

I wouldn’t be surprised to also see the number of items that appear under the All Control Panel Items heading start to shrink in 2021, either.

This continuing evolution and transformation of the controls GUI should give us some interesting new Windows 10 features to anticipate in the forthcoming 21H1 release, which is when big new changes are most likely to appear. But that process surely does seem to be underway, and may be gaining momentum. Looking at what’s left in All Control Panel Items (the lead-in graphic for this story), MS still has a fair number of items to re-create in Settings before a switchover is fully accomplished. Most of the networking stuff is now Settings-accessible as well. The recent appearance of Manage Disks and Volumes in System → Storage is a case in point.

There’s been plenty of evidence lately that MS is pushing more system control and settings management functionality into its Windows 10 Settings facility. Parmar also shows a (dark themed) screencap from Apps & Features that looks somewhat different from my 20211 PCs, too:Īdd this item to an increasing body of evidence for retiring Control Panel and the Applets for their Settings equivalents. P&F still works as always on my X380 Yoga 20211 test machine, so I’ll check on the X220 Tablet now … and it still works on that machine, too. To me, this sounds like it’s an A/B test thing, because Parmar claims it’s present in some (but not all) instances of Build 20211.
